Are you planning your holiday to the lovely little town of Port Macquarie? Perhaps you will be staying in one of the holiday apartments Port Macquerie is famous for, and think that this is as good as it gets. But, your time off in this area can be made even better if you enjoy golf and golfing. There is a jewel of a golf course called the Camden Haven Golf Club that will make you feel as if you are playing on your own home course. Yes, it’s that good! You will feel right at home with the friendly staff anticipating your needs, and the club members are wonderfully welcome, too.
Camden Haven is known to be a fairly challenging course. Located a bit out in the country, in the Camden Haven area known as Kendall, a bit more than 30 minutes away from Port Macquarie. You’ll enjoy beautiful scenery while you are playing a social game of golf. Don’t worry if you do not have your golf gear with you, for you can rent clubs, carts, and buggies right at Camden Haven. The green fee is quite reasonable as well, and if you need anything else other than what is supplied in order to help your game, there is a wonderful proshop here with a helpful, courteous staff who are very glad to help you find what you need.
Many people from around the world stand in awe as they look around at the park–like layout that is Camden Haven. Once they have played a few holes, their opinion is set. This course gets many votes for being the best golf course eve, as well as the “Best course on the entire lower north coast.” The fairways and greens are neat and well kept, as was the “rough” areas of the course. The surrounding forest was mostly eucalyptus, and looked beautiful on a clear morning. There are golf competitions for men on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and ladies golf competitions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The club is open on Monday to Thursday from 9 AM to 8 PM. Friday’s hours are 9 AM to 9:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday’s hours are from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Visitors are very much welcome here, as well as social players. A friendly club, Camden Haven even allows members from other golf clubs to play in the listed competitions.
The Pro Shop has the everyday hours of 6:30 AM until 4:00 PM. During daylight saving time, the Pro Shop is open until 6:00 PM. The Fairway Bistro, and excellent place to grab lunch, or any meal for that matter, is open on Tuesdays – Fridays from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Friday nights find the Bistro open from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM. The hours for the weekend are 9:30 AM until 3:30PM. As of this writing, there is a Lunch Special every day at The Fairway Bistro.
It is well worth a thirty minute drive from Port Macquerie to enjoy the ambience of this lovely golf club. Camden Haven is truly one in a million!
